It's time to pick your poison everybody. Is your baby a little weepublican or a babycrat? I fell in love with these applique designs as soon as I saw them. Jarred and I just think they're hilarious, and we can stop saying "weepublican" in silly baby voices. Haha! We're lame of course!! But don't you just love them?!

MRI Day!
A while back I wrote about a research study Jarred and I volunteered to be a part of for both fun and a little extra cash. Since Boston is the research capital of the world, I felt it only appropriate that being in a study go on our must-do list while we're here. One day, while riding the T, I spotted the perfect study for us. It's all about childhood memories and how they've affected who we are as adults. We signed up immediately, and I was so excited! Step one was to fill out an online survey for $25 each. Money in the bank!! Then we were selected to come into the lab for IQ and ADD testing as well as to fill out a million more surverys and an interview about our childhood memories. For this we received $100 each. And today was our final step...and it was a big one! We went in for MRI's of our brains for another $100 each. It was both of our first times to have an MRI of any kind. I must admit I was a little anxious about feeling claustrophobic, but my disgraceful past as a tanning bed user (back in high school before I had 10 precancerous moles removed) prepared me a little bit. When we got there, we realized it was a full body tube and our heads had to be locked in pretty well so as not to move. Needless to say it could have been a recipe for disaster, but we both made it through (with the help of reciting scriptures in our heads so as not to freak out). An hour in the tube and now we're each $100 richer!! Good stuff!!
Next week we should be getting a CD in the mail with pictures of our brains. Can't wait to share those!!

Elegant Bib and Burp Cloth Set
I made this bib and burp cloth set for a teacher friend of mine who just had a precious baby girl. She is wonderful and classic, and that's what I tried to emulate here. Sometimes simple elegance just can't be beat.

Mistakes Make ME Stronger!
As of late, I've shared a lot of wonderful new projects I've somehow managed to create. But I'm here to tell you, it's by no skill of my own...but by the Grace of God!! Since I first got this machine in October, I've messed up about as many things as I've made successfully. Tonight I was working on a new burp cloth that was going to be dynamite! I mean DYNAMITE! But just when I was nearing the end, that old familiar tragedy struck again. I shrunk my paws too small, and the machine just couldn't handle it. Burp cloth ruined. But it's okay...failure hasn't stopped me yet!
The words purple and orange are actually in purple and orange, some things just don't photograph quite right...especially in my apartment lighting. It was also going to have three precious mini tigers paws scattered around it.
If anybody wants one...I'll do it again. I know I can make it work with a big paw on top and the writing underneath. But I can't make another one recreationally...well, until I make some more money! : )
Smells Like Team Spirit
I've had some fun orders lately for collegiate and sports themed baby items. Here's a few pics of my latest creations! Tigers, more Tigers, and some Yankees too!
Real Tigers First...
For the mixed breeds out there...half gamecock, better half tiger
And for the those "other" tiger fans...
Any baby Yankees out there? I'm loving this cuddly kid-sized sweatshirt blanket:

Etsy Official!
These days we all know you aren't in a relationship unless it is "facebook official." Well the same holds true for Etsy and the arts and crafts business. Until now I've been dabbling in embroidery, but there's been no formal store or business, just making items for the friends I know and love (and who would still love me if items weren't 100% perfect). But I'm here to formally announce that I'm finally 100% Etsy Official! Last night I even made my very first sale! All the way from Laguna Niguel, California, I received an order for 4 travel mugs. Hooray! We'll see how long this lasts though, I think it may have just been beginners luck! But I'm good with that. Even if I don't sell another thing, at least I did it! Out of all the millions of items on Etsy, a complete stranger liked my suff! Whoo hoo!!

Thanks for all the love and support you guys have shown me as I've traveled along this journey. 9 months ago I had never even used an embroidery machine. I'll never forget my first trip to the fabric store, staring wide-eyed around the place, not having a clue what to buy. And now a bride all the way in California has asked me to make gifts for her wedding party. Who would have ever thought?!

Isn't She Lovely
Introducing my blog's first ever model! Sporting her very own personalized apron, Miss Langley cooks Mother's Day dinner for her mommy. So sweet! Thanks for the pics Desiree. Makes embroidery all the more fun when I get pictures of items in action!
What a cutie!
